What the year of 2009 is going to be like?
Some parties have uttered their prediction in tourism point of view for 2009. For sure, the global crisis will be the nightmare and undeniable for all core of business industries including the hospitality industry in especially Bali. The target of tourist visits during the year of 2009 is 6.5 million visitors, or only 1 to 2 percent increases from 2008 which reached 6.4 million visitors. Therefore, many parties agree that the government should extend the Visit Indonesia Year (VIY) program in order to invite the more visitors to come.
In 2009 Indonesia the presidential election is going to be held. This election is hoped to attract the domestic visitors to visit Bali and occupy the hotels' rooms, especially when they arrange the great meetings or campaigns. Apart from that, to anticipate the bad effect of global crisis, the hospitality industry in Bali should pay more attention to domestic markets and keep the high standard for any service. Whatever it takes, all of related parties in Bali tourism industry must work together to defend what have been attained during the past few years. |
